Money, also referred to as the money supply, is defined as anything that is generally accepted as payment for goods or services or in the repayment of debts. Money is linked to changes in economic variables that affect all of us and are important to the health of the economy. The broad money supply, say M2, is a measure of monetary aggregate, which seems to matter and has implications for the conduct of monetary policy. The People's Bank of China announces the measures of monetary aggregates in the Financial Statistics Report monthly, and the M2 changes year on year reported here is for the end of previous month.
