Policy research is a fundamental task underlying the robust performance of a modern central bank. The People’s Bank of China (PBC) has long taken research as the basis for delivering its mandate, a prerequisite step of decision-making, and a crucial channel for public communication. At a time when the world faces profound changes unseen in a century and when China is at a critical stage of great rejuvenation, it is of vital importance to further strengthen policy research for implementing the decisions and arrangements assigned by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and for building a modern central bank system as well as performing its mission.
To better benefit from policy research as its traditional pillar for performing its mandate in a new era, to better present and exchange the research findings of the PBC as well as to amplify the influence and contribution of its research, the PBC has launched the “Research” column, including two sub-columns―“Policy Research” and “Working Papers”―on its official website, Weibo account and WeChat account as well as on Sina.com and Tencent.com. Responding to hot issues of public concern, the column will update the research outcomes regularly. The PBC is looking forward to public interest and comments.
