The G20 Green Finance Study Group (GFSG) held its fifth meeting in Washington D.C. on October 8, 2016. The meeting was co-chaired by the People's Bank of China (PBC) and the Bank of the England (BOE). About 80 representatives from G20 members, invited countries and international organizations participated in the meeting on October 8. The GFSG meeting reviewed the important progress made by the study group this year in fostering a global consensus on developing green finance, and reached broad agreement on the key research topics for GFSG next year. As the G20 Presidency for 2017, Germany announced that it would continue the discussion of green finance in finance track, and the PBC and BOE will continue to co-chair the GFSG. The GFSG decided to hold its first meeting under German Presidency in Frankfurt from January 16-17, 2017.
