At the end of November, foreign currency deposits in financial institutions (including foreign-funded ones) grew by USD8.5 billion over end-2001 to USD148.4 billion. In particular, deposits of enterprises grew by USD900 million to USD50.3 billion. Savings deposits in foreign currencies totaled USD88.8 billion, up USD7.2 billion over end-2001.
The balance of loans issued by financial institutions (including foreign-funded) in foreign currencies totaled USD100.3 billion, up USD6.62 billion over end of 2001, accelerating by USD11.8 billion on year-on-year basis. In particular, balance of short-term loans amounted to USD30.8 billion, up USD3.9 billion over end of last year, accelerating by USD4.2 billion on year-on-year basis. Balance of medium and long-term loans reached USD35.2 billion, up USD2.4 billion from end-2001 and accelerating by USD4.8 billion on year-on-year basis.
