With the approval of the State Council, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) and the Bank of Japan (BOJ) recently renewed the bilateral currency swap agreement. The size of the agreement remains unchanged at RMB200 billion (JPY3.4 trillion). The agreement is valid for three years and can be renewed upon mutual consent.
The renewal of the bilateral currency swap arrangement between China and Japan once again will help maintain financial stability and support the development of economic and financial activities in the two countries.
