The meetings of the EAG Working Groups and the 39th Plenary Meeting of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) were held in Sanya, Hainan province on December 4-8, 2023. Mr. Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) addressed the opening ceremony of the Plenary via video. Mr. Liu Guoqiang, Deputy Governor of the PBOC and Mr. Chen Huaiyu, Vice Governor of Hainan Provincial Government attended the opening ceremony of the Plenary Meeting and related activities. The Plenary Meeting elected the incoming chairman of EAG and key tasks during his tenure, and reviewed the EAG Strategy for 2024-2028 and other issues.
