According to preliminary statistics, the total assets of financial institutions reached 489.15 trillion yuan at end-Q3 2024, increasing 8.0 percent year on year. Specifically, the assets of banking institutions registered 439.52 trillion yuan, increasing 7.3 percent year on year; those of securities institutions reached 14.64 trillion yuan, increasing 8.7 percent year on year; those of insurance institutions reached 35.0 trillion yuan, growing 18.3 percent year on year.
The total liabilities of financial institutions reached 446.51 trillion yuan, increasing 8.0 percent year on year. Specifically, the liabilities of banking institutions registered 403.61 trillion yuan, increasing 7.2 percent year on year; those of securities institutions reached 11.11 trillion yuan, increasing 9.9 percent year on year; those of insurance institutions reached 31.79 trillion yuan, growing 18.6 percent year on year.
